We attended the April NY Tech Meetup this week to discover the newest apps and technologies. We saw singing chins, dancing balls, and Mario navigating a hacked version of his universe...We also saw some really useful and exciting developments that are changing how we think about apps and how they fit into our social and professional lives.
We also learned about CityMaps, an advanced map app that allows you to share maps with friends and see your city through their eyes. We could see this app taking over some current social media outlets. Everything becomes geographical. You share your preferences, favorite places, hang out spots, meeting spots, etc. Seems like a lot of fun-- especially in a city like New York!
There were some other great demos including ShareRight, Fedora, and IBM's "The Internet of Things" and "BlueMix". We are looking forward to more Tech Meetups in the future!
